This is our old house amongst the trees in beautiful suburbia Beaver County!  We have been priveleged to raise three great children and we made the mistake of educating them and so they all moved away!  We have also been blessed with 13 grandchildren and an outstanding herd of Registered Red Angus Cattle.

THE SPEER FAMILY FARM

Raising cattle on the family farm has now been a part of our life for over 30 years. We started with Herefords and Black Limousins in a crossbred program, along with on the job bull fight training.  I found that the temperament and heavy birth weight made raising these cattle a challenge. 

 You know, the price of dead calves has never changed, even out here in the short grass country.   We became aware of the advantages of the Red Angus breed by watching the progress in some of our neighbor's commercial herds with their use of good Red Angus Bulls. 

 So we hung up our matador hats and cleaned the pastures of the rainbow cattle.  Its been more than ten years since we've turned to full Registered Red Angus .  They have low birth weight calves that make for hands off calving and great weight gain after birth. 

I also enjoy their temperament, especially when I know that my grandchildren can participate in handling of the herd, and my wife will again help me in the corral!  They are the best breed of cattle that we have raised HANDS DOWN!

      Who We Are

Ron and Christel Speer, Grandpa and Grandma and Mom and Dad.  That's what we go by on the farm.

Not only do we have the Red Angus herd, but also, Christel has a good herd of  Suffolk and Crossbred show sheep, guard LLama's and don't forget the dogs. 

We enjoy our farm and everything that God has given us.

Our Business

We maintain a herd of 75 to 80 registered momma cows and 3 to 4 breeding bulls, mixing and matching to arrive at our goal of producing a calf crop every year that is better than the year before. 

With this goal in mind, the Red Angus Breed has been very good to us. 

We have built long lasting business relationships and friendships that have made a solid foundation for our cattle business.  Many people come back year after year seeking bulls and heifers to improve their herds. 

 We always have something for sale that seems to fit everyones billfold.
