BET ON RED!

Raising cattle on the family farm has been a part of our life for over 30 years now. We started with Herefords and Black Limousin's in a crossbred program. I found that the temperament and heavy birth weight made raising these cattle very difficult. You know, the price of dead calves has never changed, even out here in the short grass country. We became aware of the advantages of the Red Angus breed by watching the progress in some of our neighbors commercial herds with their use of good Red Angus Bulls. We cleaned the pastures of the rainbow cattle, and turned to full Registered Red Angus about 10 years ago. They have low birth weight calves that make for hands off calving and great weight gain after birth. I also enjoy their temperament, especially when I know that my grandchildren can enjoy them just as much as I do, and my wife would again help me in the corral! They are the best breed of cattle that we have raised in ALL ASPECTS!

We are located in the Panhandle, 7 miles south of Beaver, OK or 5 miles north of Elmwood, OK (located on Highway 3). The Speer Farm is located on Highway 270 headed north to Beaver, OK, between the two radio towers. We look forward to you coming by and seeing us anytime! Call to make sure that we aren't out fixin' fence or pulling a well (that's the only entertainment that we ever get)!!!!!
